Breaking a sealed card, does it hurt the value?

I bought an autographed WNBA card of Sue Bird from the 2005 Rittenhouse set. I believe it was one of those cards that you have to send a redemption card to get. It was in a top loader with a gold Rittenhouse seal on the top. I broke the seal and took it out to put it in a nice screw down holder. The seal covered part of Sue's face on the front of the card so it didn't look too good in the holder. Did I hurt the resale value of the card? I don't plan on selling it any time soon as Sue is my favorite basketball player and the card looks much better now that you can see the entire card.

  • A card is only worth what you can get for it, personally if it helped the eye-appeal of the card by removing it then it should increase the possible resell value..
