1830 N-9 Large Cent, NGC 12. Probably a Condition Census piece. This is a new discovery piece that came from a small coin show in New England. This piece is much better than the VG7 Adams specimen that brought $6325 in Superior's auction (9/04). That coin had a light rim bruise, a couple of moderately deep field nicks, and a scratch across the bust.
More recently the VG7 in the Goldberg auction (02/07) brought $4320. That one had multiple dings and hits on both sides, and was not as sharp as the coin offered here. A second piece in the Goldberg sale that was very heavily corroded, bent, dented and covered in verdigris on both sides sold for $3000.
Having said all that, the coin offered here should be considered fairly priced. Email me with questions, or if you need more info. More pics available upon request. Reasonable offers will be considered. NGC #1868221-001........$6000 delivered in the U.S.
