Cancelled orders?

Does anybody know how canceled orders fit into the total US Mint sales numbers? Suppose the Gold set sells out today with 10,000 ordered. Tomorrow 100 sets get cancelled. How do they deal with that.

I would doubt they could "overbook" like an airline in anticipation of cancellation and I don't think we'll see them offering a few more next week as cancellation resales...

Just curious,
Jerry

If memory serves me they way, way overbooked on the Marine Corps. I have a feeling they are going to overbook the gold sets. There are going to be many people trying to order over the limit and they get their orders cancelled. My wife ordered some silver sets for delivery to my house and I ordered some for delivery to my PO box. I expect one of the orders to be cancelled but I took a chance.

Overbooking eh. So if they decide they're 10% overbooked they go back and cut everyone's orders back a little? 10 to 9, 5 to 4, hopefully not 1 to 0. --Jerry
