Grade the Peace

1923 P picked up the other day. There is a spot on the obv that I have not tried to remove yet.

    Picture?

[Edit: Oh, there it is. Reverse looks 65. Obverse limits it to 63, IMO.]

  • Picked her up for $30....the coin is standing on a snap-tite holder.

I am going to thorn the item under the eye..seems to be on top of the coin..the only break in the luster is to the right of the date...it's not a hit.

ms64 , the strike is great good pick up for 30 bucks
  • There is a problem under the eye. Thorn it and repost the pics for a grade. There is abrasion to the left of the date. This should keep it from grading MS64. I'll say MS62, taking into account the abrasion to the left of the date. Otherwise it could go MS64. The reverse is beautiful, MS65/66. Too bad someone messed up the obverse. Good luck thorning under the eye. Nothing will help the abrasion on the left of the date though. I don't see any problem to the right of the date as you mention. Were you meaning to the LEFT?
