If the side and edge is touching the bag why wont it go around to the reverse from the rim .

I'm not quite sure what you are asking, but seeing as how it's an 1880 S, well, I have never seen a toned one.

I'm not concerned about the toning, but that does not look like a 66 to me. Way too many hits all over the obverse, and one prominent hit on the eagle's chest...

80-S morgans are very, very common in whatever condition you want them. White, toned, PL, DMPL, gem, etc...

Bag toned Morgans will often have some gold/brown around the periph of the reverse.

Looks suspicious.

But, in answer to the original question posed, the lack of toning wrapped around to the reverse can easily be caused if exposure of the reverse to the canvas bag is blocked by another coin.
