He's not totally fishing for fools. I've always been persistent and found ways to get things at the cheapest prices. I've always tried to share my techniques and my "talents" with freinds and women in my life. I've found that others are much more interested in the stress free "full price" deal. In fact, some just conclude that I'm "cheap".
So this morning when you couldn't get thru I'm sure some people just said "I give up, I'll buy one on ebay."
Others who had trouble getting through to get the GB said, "I'm not even going to try this time, I'll buy one on ebay."
Some people will be just fine paying $125. They're happy, the seller is happy. We, the audience, should be happy.
<< <i>Pre-sale auctions are sleazy. The worst ones are the sellers who pre-sell graded coins at a specific grade before they even have submission results. Russ, NCNE >>
Russ, I normally agree with most of what you say but in this case I disagree. The ones I saw offered a full refund if the grade was not met. It is a kind of a low level futures market. I believe you could have bought a PR70 buffalo for less than $2k in a presale and made money. Of course PR69's would have been much safer to sell futures on.
I respect ebay sellers who are trying to figure out a way to outperform other ebay sellers. That's the enterprise that built america. It's the 21st century version of "build a better mousetrap."
