Nature or nurture?

Were you introduced to coin collecting by a friend or family member who collected? Or did you happen upon the hobby yourself?

I was hooked after my brother gave me a 1937 Buffalo nickel.

I wonder how many collectors were NOT introduced by someone they knew. Maybe by reading a newspaper article and looking up more information and going from there, or finding an old coin in a piggy bank and taking it to a coin shop, or answering an ad in the back of Boy's Life, or moving from stamps to coins, or some other means.

Happened onto the hobby myself after finding a type 1 SLQ in a park. Checked the public library for info.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

A jar of pennies, three small boys, and a Whitman folder is all it took for me!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
