Please limit your comments to pre-1900 SLABBED copper. How much of the red copper from that era do you think is original?

It begs reason for more than a coin or two that is 200+ years old to be red....my humble opinion...Even for 75 year old coins....that's why my 1909-33 Lincolns are all 62-64 RB...image

Red copper pre-1900 usually carries a Huge premium over RB and BN. Huge premiums attract the Docs.

    I voted 1-25%image

it would be more accurate if it was 1% to 5%

    instead of 1% to 25%

    1-25%.

There are some well documented examples of early Large Cents and Half Cents that have survived with nearly full mint red and which are traceable back through old auctions as such. And if they have survived that way, its certainly possible that others could have as well.

On the other hand, as someone else noted, with RD coins selling for a substantial premium every would be MOC is probably mixing chemicals as we speak. Er, type.

I voted 51% to 75% possibly more (percentage of original coins). If the question is how many RB's are in red holders, then it lowers the percentage quite a bit.
