Who wants to see my new 1799 Large Cent?

NOT

This is an 1797 double strike and the second strike caused this effect.
Should I crack it out of the PCGS holder and put it on ebay as a 1799? No way, us board members wouldn't do anything like that.

    Agent J,

Forgive me for being ignorant about early copper, but would a 1799 in that grade be worth more than a double strike? I owned a PCgs fine 1799 and only got 12k for it last year.

Are the scratches on the holder? Or is it a hairlined coin that PigCGS just looked the other way on. Oh, nice freaking coin iether way!!!
Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.
  • a 1799 is worth MUCH more than this coin. The hairlines are on the holder as a matter of fact it's so scuffy I will have to get it reholdered someday.
