How many grade points do polish marks take from a coin?

I have a Franklin half that looks like they took a brand new die and polished off the date to change it to another date...and these are the only marks on the coin...it is spotless otherwise...only way you can see it is when you rotate it in the light...It is beautiful otherwise.

If the marks on the coin were put there by the die, then I don't think that it will affect the grade at all.

They shouldn't take from the grade unless it's a very high grade coin where the eye appeal could be taken down because of the marks (ex. a technical 68 might go to a 67 if very strong die polish marks add negative eye appeal)

At least in type coins I do no feel it should lower the grade. The value of the coin can be determined after the fact.

I posed this same exact question on the forum concerning die polish lines on Morgans in the past
The consensus was PCGS doesn't like them. The reason I asked is that I own a very rare 1921-D Morgan PL.

I think it is a very high grade coin...as the only marks out of place are the die polish marks from the change of date...only seen when rotating to watch the wonderful luster....

Ok if PCGS does not like them who does...does ANACS recognize them or NGC?

None if you sell it raw and put "Ch BU" on it.
