Question

Do you ever purchase coins that are for sale at 1/4 of their value, even though you have same ( coin/set....) Or am I the only one.

I would if I thought I could triple my money on them by reselling them at full value.

Assuming no problem(s) with the coins, at 1/4 value, heck yes.

    Is this a trick question?
  • The first time I did that I learned that different grading companies have different standards. The second time I tried that I learned that you can find people selling the same date/grade for vastly differing prices and I purchased one of the expensive ones at first. Another time I tried that I learned that coins of the same grade don't always look the same. Now I try not to purchase (too many) duplicates... image

Check to make sure that you didn't pay four times the value of the one you have.

I purchased a 1999 silver proof set for 95.00. I did already have two sets, but the deal was too great to pass up. This has hapend with other coins as well.

Do they have any more? Can I have their name and address?

I guess what I am trying to say is some people collect coins for themselves, & some do it for an investment. I like to think of myself as both.

On that deal I hope you got all they had.
And to answer your question yes.
Some people just don't know how to list there items on eBay and I have been able to get a few traders that way. And every once in a while you find one that just looks better than the one you have.

I would personally never pass up a good deal regardless if I needed the coin for my personal collection or not.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
