    I looked at the images, and suspect that the repair actually was made elsewhere on the coin. I agree that it appears an uninformed cataloger assumed that the die fill on reverse was the point of repair. Find it difficult to believe that ANACS would make the initial incorrect determination. Notice how star #3 on obverse seems to be the only point of a detail on obverse that is lacking evidence of some remaining verdigris? Maybe signs of repair here?

    Could be, but also, Liberty's shoulder looks kinda odd.

    Looks like it was repaired and then made to look like tiny circulation marks to hide the job.
