At the correct angle of lighting, yes I believe those colors would be accurate.

Yes, it does look better than the image in hand. The colors are more vibrant and intense.

Quite unusual, but after looking at some of the Battle Creek stuff I guess lots of things are possible. It kind of "grows on you" the more you look at it.

Yes, it looks like that in-hand. Actually, the darks are darker and the colors are more vivid with GREAT luster! The coin is a stunner!
