Anyone Follow Tonight's Teletrade Auction???

segojasegoja Posts: 6,141 ✭✭✭✭
Everything I'm tracking is bringing about 2x what I expected.

Example 1950 Quarter PCGS PF68 CAM is at $7600

Same coin (identical numbered slab) sold in Heritage in June for $3600. Wish my coins would double in vlaue in 2 months.

Any guesses as what is really sold????

I'll bet less than half!

It will be interesting. What does TT charge consigners for lots that failed to sell?

Most high-priced stuffs won't be sold.

Yeah, I follow them all and, with few exceptions, have bids in them all.

The buyback fee is not too bad. My guess is they own many of the coins themselves, so there is no real downside.

Some of these expensive coins have shown up in several premier sales.

They have things rigged to make money almost anyway. I am happy enough pretending it is a real auction and bidding what I would pay any other dealer for a coin I have limited image access to. If I win, great. It's just a black box. The difference is the buyback and I just account for it. Don't send many back. The risk is figured into it all.

Great attitude. We should all have such an attitude towards buying coins. Keep the emotions out of play.

You make better buys that way!

    Good Luck to you!!!
