Coach's Corner upgrades from GEM to PRO in their newest SCD listing

I just can't understand who in their right mind would bid on any of this garbage...

In their latest SCD ad, Coach's Corner offers a preview of their September auction which includes:

A 64 Stand-Up Mantle in a PRO 10 holder...

Then there's a 33 Goudey Ruth #53 in the PRO 8 holder... better bid big for this one, SMR is $42,500 in that grade

Let's not forget all the autographed crap that has been "authenticated" by STAT... in someones basement

Now, I understand SCD needs the ad money, and CC is a big advertiser to pump their shady auctions... but the thing I don't understand most - SCD is a publication that would be read by more advanced hobbyists, certainly not uninformed newbie's... who does CC think they're fooling? Obviously someone, or else they wouldn't keep running the ads, but who?

Can companies like CC be reported to any sort of authorities? They are blatantly ripping people off, while at the same time, flooding the hobby with trimmed cards and forged auto's.

I remember when the "authenticity" of Coaches Corners autographs were pictures of the go-fers at an airport terminal with "insert your favorite athlete here" signing a hat or shaking hands. Good enough for me............

Hey, now...you're just flat out lying. I have proof that authentication occurs in their BATHROOMS. Get your facts straight, or rumsfeld will deport you faster than you can say BCCG.

Doubt it. As long as PRO, GEM and other shady authentication companies exist, so does CC. You have to point the finger at those companies before you point the finger at CC. In any lawsuit against them, CC will claim ignorance given that PRO, GEM and the other companies they use have been in the marketplace for an extended period. If you go after CC, you'll have to go after 1/2 of the dealers on ebay and most of the dealers at card shows. That's like record companies suing users of Kazaa, Napster, morpheus, et al. Not going to work. Go after the source. Thats why napster, kazaa, IRC are gone...
