Dumb Newbie Submission Question

Okay I have read that in oder to get a first strike deignation on a coin you have to pay the 10 dollar fee. Where the heck on the submission form do you mark that you want it first strike and pay the corresponding fee?

In the little space that says "other:". In addition, write FIRST STRIKE DESIGNATION in bold letters below the listed coins.

  • one other thing to be sure of, if its after the 30 day grace period that you send the whole box sealed from the mint along with the submission form, do not just send the coin. it has got to be sealed in the mint package and that means you couldn't have already opened the box to check the contents or anything if its after the 30 days since the coin was first minted. If it is less then 30 days then all you have to send in is the coin

  • I believe you are too late in the year to have your coin designated as first strike.

  • Thanks the "Other" clears it up. I bought two gold buffaloes which were recieved by PCGS within the thirty day period, but I didn't check other and pay the fee. I just wondered for future reference, ie commeratives such as san francisco mint etcetera.

If coins are still sealed in original mint packaging and a receipt dated prior to cutoff is provided, they can still be designated.
