I belive the 2 cent peice is the most elegant and bueatiful coin ever made. gobrecht dollars, flying lincoln cent are second.

I like the proof version myself but have RD's in both.
To answer the question about flying cent pennys. there the penny before indian head pennys. As for being elegant, there just really bold and inspiring, perhaps classy would have been a better word choce! Thanks again for the photos.

It's a neat coin and I still have two in my collection, but I find the design uninspiring.
They are pretty in well preserved states, but so are Pez dispensers.
Aside from type sets, I have heard over and over, for over 20 yeears now, that they are sleepers-----Well they are still sound asleep for a long time to come...
