Half dime toner arrived...

The ANACS piece I originally posted about in this thread arrived today.

It has both an upsides and a downside.

Upside: Toning is, as I suspected, much more vibrant than the murky auction pics indicated.

Downside: An absolutely VICIOUS hit to the left of the date on the obverse. Are TPGs more accepting of hits like this on circulated pieces than MS?

    Maybe they thought it was a with/arrows half-dime.image More seriously, TPGs are extemely inconsistent with how they view circulation marks on coins.

    From the pictures, I'm not liking this piece. Something tells me the color isn't natural and the hits on it bother me. The color could just be the photos.
