What does PM stand for?

I have been racking my brain to figure out what PM means. Gave up and am willing to post my ignorance. Ash

If you want to use this option, click the "profile" box just below the
navigation window located in the upper right hand section of this
screen. Your personal profile will pop up. Look for the option that
says "Allow private messages" and select "yes".
Now you're all set. To send a private message, click the "lock" icon
in the upper right area of anyone's posting and you can send a message
to only that one person. It's just like sending an e-mail to someone but
you don't have to type in their e-mail address.
