The Pack or the holder ?

The holder looks normal to me, Thats the way Gai seals thier stuff.

  • Seems to good to be true don't it? This set has been popular for a very long time how could any leave a pack of 1952 unopened knowing what could be inside.

That pack gave me bad flashbacks - about 10 yrs ago Mark Murphy had this find from a little ole lady from Pasedena - the packs were in fantastic shape and were selling in the 1700$ range - that was a lot of money to me - but now it's a bargain and it woulda been nice to have!

The 1700$ fish that got away.

I've seen this pack up for auction before I think, but I'd be reluctant to bid the big bucks on it because of the grade and because it looks a little rough around the edges. I'd pass and wait for the PSA version, personally.

Why wait for PSA. Rutter is/was better than Steve Hart, he told me so on these very boards.

Don't worry about the wrinkled wrapper. The pack is almost 55 years old. It's bound to develop a few wrinkles at that age. image
  • SO are there still quite a few of these around are do they show up on blue moons?

Well, they aren't in every vintage pack collection but they are probably the most available 5c Topps pack from the 50s. I wonder how many of them are legit but there have been a few finds including the Mark Murphy one highlighted above. I also tried to broker a deal a few years back for a sealed brick of packs. The deal didn't materialize because the owner wasn't ready to sell. I'm sure those packs are still locked away.
