Nah. The Sox officially laid down after last night. They're done. From confidence level, they're at an all time low. That said, I always thought that they had over archieved all season long. Their record against AL teams with higher than .500 winning percentage was nothing to write home about. Wells and Schilling have pitched great, but everybody else just sucks. Papelbon is a non-factor if the team can get him into those save situations.

One thing though, this is not like the Boston Massacre back in '78. I remember that summer distinctly and back then, the Yanks had clearly dominated the Sox in every way. This time around, if you exclude the first game with Jason Johnson pitching, I felt the Sox were very competive and the games were fairly tight.

At this point its just disgusting. For them to allow this to happen at home is a disgrace. Last night even Francona did his part and making a fool of himself, having a bunt sacrafice with Papi on 2nd? No pinch runner with the game on the line? Whatever.
