I am currently building this set (twelve more to go) and I am astounded at the prices paid for some of the low pupulation cards in PSA 9
#110020765162 Bill Cartwright PSA 9 $356.01
#110020768254 Michael Cooper PSA 9 $611.00
I need these two but I'll wait for them to come down to under $20.

Look at the percentage of 9's to the total number of cards submitted, these are easy. I wouldn't even pay those prices for 10's or 11's.
You and I head gone head to head a few times..when I was working on my set....
I was down to 11 cards and sold it off for the same reasons that you stated above..
Good luck with your set though...I'm always on the hunt for singles and wax at shows....
need to see if i have either of those...i'm sure i don't. network8687 is a strong buyer of bkb cards.
Thanks,

"You might be right."
I did pick up the Robert Parish, Rolondo Blackmon, and Danny Ainge for less than $10 each and I have seen these two go for high $$$ in the not so distant past. For some reason, the low #'s 12-22 are rare in high grades and I have had a hard time finding #33 Dale Ellis raw much less graded. I have found many high end examples at card shows and I always get 8's when I submit them. I don't know what I am missing on this issue. I usually have a good eye for cards, especially 86 Fleer, where I usually get 9's and have gotten some 10's. Not so with the 87's.
....and then 10s went for less than $50 each.
Thanks,
