Selling my #8 SHQ registry set on bst.

I have incurred some unexpected medical expenses thus I find myself in this position. I have passionately chased these for years, and find myself coming up short as the series winds down. But, my wife, whom I love dearly, has had a mecical condition that had to be taken care of. Insurance only takes care of so much, the rest lies on me. So there really is no question as to priorities.

Here is a link to the bst board Just 2 bit Quarters

Thanks

  • Thanks Larry, and you're so right. No question about the priorities.

I want to thank everyone for their kind words, and their interest in the coins. I on the other and, am lacking when it comes to pricing these.
First off I'm biased cause I really love this issue of modern coins (I know, I know, just modern crap image) And second, I'm a greedy s.o.b.. Well not really, but it's hard to be neutral from my point of view. But don't think your gonna insult me with a low offer, I know we all want a deal when it comes to a coin, be it a modern or and honest to God real coin thats more than a 100 or so years old........

  • Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that I learned something today. I tried to send out a couple of packages registered mail. I had a single coin, in a padded mailer, wrapped in that God awful reinforced packaging tape. Guess what? You can send things registered overseas like this, but not in the United States. Now I am behind a day on 2 packages! image I really try my hardest to send out things the next business day.
Jeeze, you would think if its good enough for os mail, it would be good enough stateside.
  • Here's question I need to put forward to you guys. As expected there is interest in certain coins, and none on others. Would it be acceptable if I was to post the high offer on the coins? I have a few coins with more than 1 offer and offers on groups of coins. Hard to keep the playing field even for everyone involved. You can post answers here or pm me or ignore the question. I'm curious to see what would be considered proper proceedure.

    Thanks

    Roger

  • It has been said that I need to put a price tag on the quarters in this set. I have a variety of reasons for not doing so. The value I put on a particular coin, may not be the same as the value others may put on it, or the value given by pcgs, fmv, or whatever guide people may want to use. I am not a dealer, and am not as in tune with the market as I probably should be. Also, if I put a price on a coin, and that price is met, I would then feel obligated to sell the coin at that point in time. Thus preempting any offers that may or may not have been made later but during the the time frame which I gave for offers to be submitted. This is counter productive to the whole idea of accepting offers vs selling outright at a set price. I think that not setting prices has left the door open for me to decline an offer and at the same time gives people time to consider, reconsider, or retract an offer. There are weaknesses to this line of thinking, but so be it.
