ANA today
I went today. There was not a lot of activity in the bourse, except at the makeshift post office. Tons of coins were being boxed up in Priority Mail containers, the type you use to ship any weight, and being shipped back. The Brits were all leaving town pronto. I picked up a nice 1853 halfpenny for an obscene amount of money, found a rare 2+A proof farthing and a close date 1893 farthing. There were some nice full red bronzes with some equally nice prices - but none of them were interesting dates (1881H farthing, 1889 halfpenny, etc). Otherwise, I didn't see a lot of hole fillers.
One of the US dealers who had quite a bit of British had every last piece in PVC, including many nice UNCs.
I bumped into Josh a couple of times. I hope he posts his view of the show.

Just curious, but when people encounter dealers exposing coins to PVC, do you ever suggest -- firmly or otherwise -- that they not alienate possible customers and start using non-PVC product? I think the more they hear it, the more likely they are to do something about it. Not that it's ever pleasant to encounter their possible hostile response, but....

Pity to hear about the PVC. Was London Coins at the ANA? They had some nice material last year.
One of these days I'll make it to ANA. Glad you picked up at least one good coin. Not a lot of British stuff in my local coin shows either....
