What do you think of this card?

I am thinking of crossing it. Think its psa 10 material?

Please give your opinion. It looks really good to me with the exception of some slight edge chipping on the reverse.

Thanks

  • It might not be a 9 on the first go-around, but that card will definitely be in a PSA 10 case with 1, 2, or 3 submissions. This is from my experience. In terms of modern cards, the difference between a 9 and a 10 (PSA) is extraordinarily S-U-B-J-E-C-T-I-V-E.

With my '93 Refractors, the difference is usually negligible. I very recently had a 20-card submission where the ONE '93 Refractor I almost did NOT send in was one of the few from the submission that was graded PSA 10 (Cert. # 07134778)!!! It had 3 touched corners and I was expecting an 8 at BEST. Couldn't believe it. Still can't.

    Matt,

I'm no expert, but it looks like someone trimmed the left side and added cardboard to the right side to achieve the 9.5 centering.

Also, upon close inspection, it looks like someone scribbled with blue marker under each of the photographs. More than likely you're looking at an MK qualifier.

On the positive side, at least you got yourself some real running backs for once.

P.S. Just kidding, really sweet card. I didn't realize Topps was doing autographs back in '98.

It gives one great confidence in third party grading, doesn't it?

Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
  • can't make this stuff up. one of my pucketts got a 6 (no, there was no surface wrinkle when I mailed it). My best cards were 9s.

    DUH PSA, DUH.
  • I'd just free it from that Beckett case as soon as possible ;-) seriously - not much luck crossing beckett here -
