Crossovers

I sent in eight cards, still in their SGC holders, for crossover grading. I know it is better to break them out, but I am a little nervous about it, and some of the cards are relatively expensive. Three crossed, four did not, and one is annotated "Did not meet minimum size requirements". Does this mean they broke it out, then declined to grade it? I had no idea that was an option.

No, it meant, based on what they could tell by just looking through the holder, the card looks shorter than normal (but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is until you crack it out and take a better look at it).

It is possible that they broke it out of the holder and than determined that it did not meet minimum size requirements. In this case I believe you will get the card back in a card saver I.

What were the cards? Although it is a small sample SGC crossovers usually do much better than that.
