I just spilled on my desk and ruined about 50 cards!

The worst part is, it was my last beer. image

Damn....sorry to hear.....ohh wait....let me try that again,

You should have been smart enough to not drink the beer near your cards.

What were the cards? Really sorry to hear this!

I did something like that back around 1990 - I picked up about a dozen 63F BB cards - put them in a holder near the stick shift of my car - took off - and my diet coke proceeded to tip over and filled the holder and soaked the cards! They weren't expensive but potentially nice.

Nothing major. A bunch of 82,83 and 84 Topps bb cards. Commons but mint. They were in the "should I waste money to grade these" pile.

Zef, you should not submit those cards for grading since they've had water spilled on them.

    Use common sense.

The common sense I should have used was to not use a PSA slab as a coaster.

Well, at least your decision is much easier now.
  • I use PSA slabs for coasters all the time....

How well are they sealed, anyway?

Did you at least suck the beer dry off the cards? No need to waste a good beer.

  • It's a huge red flag for the cops but I love that bumper sticker, "Don't drink and drive... You could hit a pothole and spill it!"
  • It must be karma that the grades would have been bad and you would have just wasted the money grading them.

Im tryin to help you out image.

friends don't let friends drink and sort

    Loves me some shiny!
  • This whole thing could've been avoided if you were drinking straight whiskey.

I don't know how, but it could've been.

    Mmm ... whiskey.

Unfortunately, I learned my lesson a long time ago.

Having an adult beverage next to cards don't mix; especially when it is the last one of said beverages.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
