T206 Honus on Real Sports - They're Back!

Did anyone catch the report on Real Sports about John Cobb and Ray Edwards - infamous purveyors of the best darn Honus to come down the pike in many moons?

These guys are getting more air-time than Brad and Angelina!

Joe Orlando was interviewed along with a few key people in the sequence of events - mainly the printer who says it's real and the paper analyst who says the paper is old?

In one part they showed the auction in what I would call an obscure location - Binghamton, NY - in the end, there were no takers. Like what a surprise!

Ebay pulled the auction last week. These two jokers got on Net 54 and defended the card in a semi-literate rant.
Hope their 15 minutes is up.

Maybe they got it from that bar with the 82 Traded Ozzie Smith and the Cal Ripken newspaper.

You give them too much credit to call them semi-literate. One of their "experts" doesn't even reach that status.

I hope Bob Connelly's 15 minutes are up too.

Agreed. Between the questionable non-certified autographs they had up and the Wagner, I really hope that they fade into the woodwork quickly. I'm not sure which was sadder: that they were convinced that the card is real, or that they though a card in that "condition" would be a "4".

Here is the schedule for when the show is being replayed

If it was real would anyone want that guy with the crazy mustache rubbing the card?

How can anyone doubt these guys have the real deal? Didn't you see that Treasure Chest full of sweet vintage items... there were Pokemon cards, 90's non-sports card boxes and even some Star Wars Figures from 1998 that were still sealed-wow!

I haven't heard about this. How do we know it's fake? Have they tried to submit it to PSA?

Joe Orlando was interviewed on the show and said they that he welcomed them for an evaluation and they turned him down.

They are convinced the card is real - printed back then - by whom? It doesn't matter - they say.

IMO, I doubt anyone would reprint a card backs in the 20s - 30s; they weren't worth that much back then to go thru the bother.

I wonder if these guys really think it's legit and are just plain misinformed? If so, I kinda feel bad for them since they really do think they're sitting on a diamond mine.
