I don't even know where to start with this one...

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Well at least he is prompt in returning emails.

His response to my question about the small scans and telling me what the cert # is:

  • Maybe its me but the card went from being a PSA 10 rookie to an archives card. Did he change the scan or something?

I asked him to give me a larger scan but since he obviously does not own the psa card he was showing, he put this scan up.

Okay this is getting funny. I emailed him asking him to give me a larger scan. He changed it from the small psa scan to an ungraded archive card.

I then emailed him again asking why he changed the card he replied with this:

<< <i>this is the same card i just had to change the case case that one really really messed up put the card is still in mint condition >>

  • So the guy claims to take a PSA 10 (which was in a scan about the size of a pinhead), takes it out of its case and it changes into a recent Topps Archives card? That along with 0 feedback and a 300.00 minimum bid ought to attract a bevy of bidders....

You'd have to be a new life form to get burned by this auction..

  • OK, I just had to email this guy too. My questions: Why are you selling this card, stating is is from 1976? It is from 2001. WHY are you stating it is a PSA 10 and it is not even slabbed?

    His response:
"what are you talking about my dad bought it when he was in 1976."

I forgot I started this thread. Good stuff. My favorite 'seller' response:

<< <i>"what are you talking about my dad bought it when he was in 1976." >>

Is 1976 a movie or something? image
