Albuquerque YNs are very thankful !!!

A couple of weeks ago, I asked this forum for suggestions on building our YN program in the Albuquerque Coin Club. I did receive a couple of good ideas, but one member really did something outstanding for our kids.

Angielczyk, (Harold Angel) one of our members, is the president of the United Nations FAO program and is based in Italy. He so graciously sent me 20 sets of FAO coins along with information about the coins. Each of the sets has 4 folders, and a total of 30 different FAO coins in each of the sets. He sent them Registered Priority Mail, and paid over 150 Euros in postage. I can’t ever thank him enough for this wonderful donation to our YNs. See the images below.

There are several adult members of our club who have told me that they want a set, but they will only go to our YNs.

There are quite a few great people who visit this forum, but Harold Angel has done a wonderful thing to help our YNs.

Thank You Harold !!!!!!!!

  • The world needs more people like that imo.

Generousity gets it's rewards ( ie what goes around, comes around ) and I'm a firm believer in that.

What a great example. Will be quite thrilling for the kids, eh? And what a great way to inspire them to learn more of the world and the solutions it needs.

I have searched via Google for info on how to purchase sets from the FAO, but the best I could get is the fact that they are sold out of the Money and Medals Programme store in "Building B" in Rome.

Harold, can you tell us how these kinds of sets might be purchased?

  • Thank you all for your kind comments. However the credit is not due to me personally but to the Money and Medal Programme of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

As some of you have expressed interest in purchasing these coins I can inform you that sets No.1, 2, and 3 of the 50th anniversary of FAO together with the XXist century set (all of which include the documentation) can be obtained from me at a special price to the members of this board of $89 including all postage and handling charges.

I would also point out that all profits made by the MMP go towards supporting projects in the developing world.

In addition to these coins we also have in stock a number of silver FAO coins starting from the 1970's which are available both in retail and wholesale quantities. Many of these coins were made in limited editions and all are in uncirculated or proof condition as issued by the mints.

Should you be interested please PM me and I will forward further details.

    Thank you again

    Harold
