I've never been to the East Coast National. Is it as big-time as the name implies? Will the top-dog dealers be there with their amazing inventories? It's not likely that I'll buy anything, so I'm going more to oogle the goods for sale.

Vancouver is such a cool city, that I just gotta go.
Plus, it helps that it's only about 40 minutes or so away ...

ajw, the show has a different promoter now. when it was rothstein few people came because of steep entrance fee and I heard they also charge a lot per table/stall. I'm not sure if this is the 3rd or 4th year JPS promoting the show. Entrance fee is cheaper. I was talking to one guy in one booth (before JPS tookover) he said long time ago it used to be 2 floors (east coast show). they're hoping with a new promoter it will pick up.
Anybody went there before? I remember this guy who sells Dimaggio and mantle stuff (credit cards letters, rings, etc). I went to his stall and saw he was selling Jeter WS rings. I asked if it's real and why he sold the rings. he said they are real and he gave away the others and kept one. He really made me believed. A year after, I read an article Jeter kept all his WS ring in a vault. Reminded me about what he told a couple long time ago about Joe dimaggio's WS ring. He said it was real but when Dimaggio sold the ring he took the real diamonds and replaced it with zirconias. Don't know if that is true. He told me about the mantle credit cards cancelled checks and other IDs. He said most were sold by mantle's sister who is poor. I don't remember if he sells them or just put it on display.
Uh-oh I will be seeing the old couple who sells cheap plastic sleeves and boxes.
I think I have a few $$ to spend. That'll be great if show covers 2 floors.
tedw9, east coast national is aug. of every year . They also have minor shows there. You can pick up a sched. by the entrance.
I would guess from 93 to 99 for me but then it really went in the toilet? It feel victim to the internet and it is just not worth it for dealers to
pack up their stuff and lug it around the country anymore? The only good thing about doing a card show is it is usually cash so it would be
alot harder for the IRS to follow it , if that ever becomes an issue? I can't imagine its not going to considering the amout of lost tax dollars just going through Ebay alone?
ON ITS WAY TO NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658
The show used to be one of the best around, that was about 10 years ago. I haven't been for two years but with no Ft. Washington in Sept. I figued I'd make the drive.
