Hi all
I guess you have not heard, the media has given that award to Brady Quinn, Notre Dame QB.
But now that i think about it,,, its the same media that leading up to the 2006 Fiesta bowl questioned why Ohio St. was even going to show up !
Brady Quinn is a very good QB, but Troy Smith (OSU QB) is better
Brady grew up about a 10-15 min. drive from Ohio St. stadium,,, BUT,,, he was not recruted bu OSU.
There was a reason for that, did you watch the 2006 Fiesta bowl ?

First of all its Heisman not Heismen, the first indication you have no clue. Here is the second one:
Bob Baum / Associated Press
TEMPE, Ariz.-- Fourth-ranked Ohio State's roster is loaded with homegrown talent.
When it faces No. 5 Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl tonight, though, the Buckeyes will be reminded that not every great Ohio player stays to play for them.
"Brady Quinn is a very good Ohio kid who got away," Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said.
Quinn was a star at Coffman High School in the Columbus suburb of Dublin, a short drive from the Ohio State campus.
"We recruited him as hard as we could," Tressel said.
But Quinn chose Notre Dame.linkfortheclueless
I suspect Tressel might have a better grasp of the truth in the matter than you.
29 for 45 for 286 yards and no ints. against OSU and you use that as your basis to bash the kid. Please share with us some more of your nuggets of fact and wisdom, we need more good laughs around here. ncaastats
And don't forget that ND "should" have beaten USC last year. Had it not been for the push by Bushleague, USC wouldn't have been in the BCS Championship game.

So much hate for USC and the best college player in years...no flag, no foul.
Brady will win the trophy unless he absolutely stinks it up.

Chipper Jones rookies
Orlando Cabrera rookies
Lawrence Taylor

What Bush did was illegal, period. Spin as much as you want because you know it's true.
In regards to hate, look in the mirror Tinkerbell
Good catch on that spelling flub.
Brady had always liked ND, but OSU did not recruit him that hard. Coach Tressel is not about to come out and say as much. OSU went for Troy and Justin Zwick.
Oh sure, if Brady wanted to come to OSU, he would have been given a scholarship. But he saw OSU as QB heavy. And ND was saying come and play, it was a good fit for both.
And i honestly do not see where i "bashed the kid"
I said he was a very good QB, but i felt Troy Smith was better.
And now lets look at their (head to head) numbers for that 2006 Fiesta bowl
Passing yards - Troy (19 for 28 = 342 yrds) Brady (29 for 45 = 286) Winner - Troy Smith
Rushing yrds - Troy ( net total 66 yrds) Brady (net total -32 yrds) Winner - Troy Smith
Total yrds - Troy (408 total yrds) Brady (254 total yrds) Winner - Troy Smith
Touchdowns - Troy (2 passing) Brady ( 0 ) Wnner - Troy Smith
(use your own ncaastats link to verify)
HOW ARE THOSE "NUGGETS OF WISDOM",,,,, HOPE THEY GIVE YOU A GOOD LAUGH,,,, THEY DID FOR ME

No spinning. No flag was thrown, no foul called. What exactly does that take away from Bush?
<< <i>In regards to hate, look in the mirror Tinkerbell >>
Yes, we all know you hate me dipchit. So when I look in the mirror, I see the face of your ridiculous hate and bias.
Brady will likely win the heisman trophy.
I really have very interest in the trophy and it often times is just a popularity contest. Many of those winners while good college players had little impact in the NFL and some were probably over rated in college. You of all folks being an OSU fan should realize this or did you forget about Archie?
If Quinn wins it, all that means is ND most likely had a successful season and he contributed a great deal towards that. If he does good for him, but it doesn't change much of anything. Its basically become an over-hyped reward.
Its very obvious (spell check me on that Mike, i might be a total fool for spelling that wrong) that you are a BIG Notre Dame fan.
MIKE, i really do like Brady, i ran into him at a local bible camp. (i am from central ohio) He seems very straight up. He really seemed like the kind of guy you would want your daughter to marry,,,, I MEAN IT !!
If you remember, the big recruiting battle for Brady was between Michigan & ND, right up until the last week.
Ohio state would have loved to have had him, but honestly, Ohio st. was aware they were not in the running. I think Brady and his family told OSU, thanks but no thanks. The Brady family are big buckeye fans, but their son comes first !!
BUT,, i still think Troy Smith is a better QB and at least in their only meeting, TROY SMITH RULED !

One thing about this forum is that you can always count on Stalin making an idiot of himself. Life, death, taxes and Stalin. Hardly arguing with anyone, just pointed the total inaccuracies of what he posted. I know its almost impossible for you to comprehend anything other than what you spout Joseph, but there are fans like me that are fans because they enjoy the game, sitting in the Stadium on a Saturday afternoon, walking around a beautiful campus in the fall, having some security of thought that 20% of the team won't get busted, the knowledge that 90% of the recruits will actually graduate with a degree, the continual renewal of friendship with faculty and staff, etc. Some of us don't live in your world of idiotic smack talk and living and dying with each victory or loss. As you grow older and hopefully mature you will come to the realization that it matters not whether you win or lose but how you play the game. In the meantime your prepubescent teenage rants are just that.
1) Brady Quinn WAS recruited by Ohio State, but he grew up a ND fan and always wanted to go there.
2) Quinn is the Heisman favorite because he fits the prototype. White, good looking, great playing QB from an elite school. See, e.g., Messrs. Palmer and Leinart.
3) Quinn didn't lose the game for ND last year. Their defense, which has the speed of a good MAC team, lost it by giving up 617 yards to Mr. Smith and Co.
4) Notre Dame SHOULD win all of their regular season games this year. They play one difficult roadie (USC) and one difficult home game (scUM). They should horsewhip all of the other teams, including Penn State and Michigan State. A lot of SEC teams would kill to have that schedule.

ARRRGH, I never said that he WAS NOT recruited by Ohio st. What i said was, he was not recruited that hard by Ohio st.
Ohio st. was well aware of what brady`s choices were,, and Ohio st. was not one of them.
Would Ohio st. liked to have "gotten" Brady Quinn, OH YEAH !!
But Brady, like most recruits with any class, they will tell certain schools "don`t waste your time on me"
A school will hold a scholarship for a certain player they hope to get,,, in the mean time,,, they could be missing the chance to sign another player.
And Ron old buddy, if there was one game that might really scare me (if i was a big ND fan) its that very first game of the year, Georgia Tech (in Georgia)
Thanks Ron
