Hi Scott- I saw your items for sale. I was wondering why you are selling your good ones now? Summer time sucks for selling the low pop good stuff on ebay don't you think? Just was wondering what your thoughts are. chaz
  • Based on my own experience of selling on eBay for 3 years now, I don't have any evidence that summer is better or worse than any other time of year.

I definitely see a difference. For example, a PSA 8 1957 Richardson sold for over 400 dollars about 6 months ago and I saw one just sell for around 275 dollars. Prices in my experience drop by at least 30 per cent in a lot of vintage auctions from mid-July to end of August. I think selling in the summer is tough because of vacations and the heat.....just my opinion. Good luck with your auctions. chaz
  • Any single given card can go up or down, depending on a variety of factors such as time between sales of the same card, who happens to be watching for it at that point in time, the specific condition and centering of the card, etc. My own evidence is compiled based on eBay sales tracking of approximately 600 cards over the past 3 years.

Here's one that's comparable to your Richardson example. A 1957 Topps #280 Alex Kellner PSA 8 sold on eBay for $479.00 on March 5, 2006. Another 1957 Topps #280 Alex Kellner PSA 8 sold for $753.00 on August 15, 2006.
