I ~HATE~ auction sniping software.

I've been following an auction and needless to say I lost it 3 seconds before it closed... image I guess if you can't beat them - join them?

Can anyone recommend a good (reliable, secure) sniping software?

Thanks in advance,

Roman.

I use auctionsniper, I joined about six months ago. The way it is now, if you do not snipe and win the auction you just ran the bidding up higher. I have never had them fail to place a bid.

Russ( compucheap uses it as well ). If you cant beat them Join them! If you give them his email when you join he gets three free snipes... tech@compucheap.com

Pm me your address and I will send you some free goodies!

eSnipe has never failed me, I highly recommend it.

I tried auctionsniper once and it failed, didn't put my bid in and I lost. This was for a software package I wanted which retailed about $150 and had been selling at auction for about $125 or so. The auction I missed out on ended at approximately $95. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy about it, and I'm glad in the long run that I found eSnipe.

I'll give eSnipe a try, thanks everyone!

IlikeZAR - it does feel like "cheating", but after losing auctions at the last second (seriously second!) - it's just getting too frustrating to even bid image

I snipe 98% of my auctions. Why?

    1. Why drive up the price of an item early in the game? Early activity draws attention to an item, which as a buyer, I do NOT want to happen.

    2. Why should I let other people see what I'm bidding on? (After the fact, OK, but while the item is still in play? Heck no!)

P.S. I use esnipe as well.

I use auctionsnipper as well. It has always worked well for me. If you bid frequently or over $50 regularly then you might try Phantombidder.com It would be cheaper on the fees.

Auctionsniper is my choice too, it has never failed me. But remember, it's the highest bid that wins, not the latest.

I've always been a little on the fence when it comes to auction sniping software. I don't use them, but I've thought about it quite a bit. I guess I think they hurt the sellers, but since so many people use them, whether or not I do doesn't really change that.

Auctions are supposed to get attention when a lot of people are interested - it's part of the benefit of selling nice junk instead of common everyday junk. I doubt that my buying activity will influence anyone else's. I would imagine you would have to be quite a well known collector for anyone to follow your purchases.

Nah - in the end, I believe there's only one real reason for sniping. Sometimes you can pick up stuff on the cheap because, in a lot of cases, it removes the issue of the bidding war.

I hate sniping too, but people started watching the auctions I bid on - almost every time it was the same IDs outbidding me. So in the end, I went to a sniping program. I use both esnipe and auctionsniper.
