It looks like mediaeval spain coin. Maybe Castile and León. But I'm not sure.

It looks like an 8 reales coin - with a "P" mark .... unless that's the top of the "o" in Mo ....

Let me check my "Spain, Portugal and the New World" catalogue.

I think i got it - Bolivia, depending on a size, since denomination is not visible, either 4 or 8 Reales, Philip II

Obverse: Crowned Arms, mint mark and assayer's initial to left, denomination to right.
Obv. Legend: PHILIPPUS D.G.HISPANIARVM.
Reverse: Cross of Jerusalem in tressure, castles and lions in quarters.
Rev. Legend: ET INDIARVM REX.

somewhere in 1500's is my guess.

Any estimates as to what it may be worth? Is it silver?

As far as price goes - in your condition - not sure. The one in the link above is obviously a bit better looking and it went for a little over 200.

It's silver. Check the weight on yours. If it's around 27 grams - it's 8 Reales.
