  • this person didnt have any usa but got every thing else.ive added a pic of 1 ot them &wat he says about them.the site is a good 1,so if they are fake, its not the site.

GB - 1929 PUC £1 a superb modern Maryland Forgery of this beautiful stamp which now catalogues at around £1,000, unused and a perfect addition for the specialist or thematic collector. Maryland Forgeries first appeared in 2002 and commanded prices of up to £50 when offered in auction. Little is known about them except they originated in Maryland, USA, hence their name. Today they have acquired something of a cult status and are frequently referred to as the 'Marvelous Marylands'. All Marylands are supplied with the word 'Forgery' either printed or handstamped on the back and come complete in a presentation folder
  • I've never heard of this before. This is very interesting. I'm going to have to do some asking around.

    Peter,

I don't know anything about the "Maryland forgeries", but if you search completed and on-going eBay auctions, there are a few.

  • To tell you the truth, the stamp itself isn't very appealling. Kind of boring and not something I'd spend much time looking at. I still might buy one just to have a forgery. How can you tell it's a forgery?
