SOLD - FSH: 1783 Washington and Independence Draped Bust Colonial

Baker 2. Breen 1189.

Colonials aren't my specialty, but comparing this to the images in the Heritage archive, it seems to be VF-20/25. Please judge yourself from the pictures, which should be accurate. I will accept returns (minus shipping) within 7 days.

Full disclosure: This piece had some glue (or something) spots on it, which I removed with acetone. There is a little discoloration remaining, mainly at 5:00 on the reverse (visible in the pic). See thread in the US Coins forum if you want to see the "before" pic.

My year-old Redbook says $85 in F and $175 in VF. Heritage sold a PCGS F15 in 3/2006 for $125, a PCGS VF20 in 1/2005 for $150 and a PCGS VF25 in 8/2003 for $155.

SOLD - thanks for your interest
Asking $130 (shipping included within the US) for this raw piece.

Relisted (or un-marked as 'sold', if you prefer) because the buyer returned it. One of the drawbacks of allowing returns is that sometimes people take you up on it. Oh, well.

On the plus side, the buyer didn't have any objections to the coin or its picture. They wrote to me, "It's beautiful and accurately described. However, after having it in hand, I simply don't want it."

So... it's back up for grabs.

I might go to a show this weekend, so one bump in case someone wants to snag it first...
