Paid too much?

I looked it up in an older Krause and thought I'm in the ballpark. But, when I double checked Friedberg GCotW it was quite a bit lower.

I'm guesing $225 would have been a better price. But then I wouldn't have won it. It did hit my max bid.

Thoughts?

1810 Third Guinea - Link

Someday the British stuff will catch up and I think nice Early gold (1810) has lots of room to grow...

  • The seller made the mistake of restricting sales to US only and excluded UK buyers ( hence reduced their market ). I think you did well.

2006 Spink lists it at £110 in VF, and £300 in EF.

Assuming yours falls easily into the gVF range at £150, you're bid was right on target. And, these prices are 1 year old (new 2007 Spink due in October), and gold was considerably less when that edition went to the printers.

  • I don't think you paid too much at all. I would have been surprised to see it go any cheaper.

    Nice coin!
