I think I got reported to paypal

I been selling this cheap $4 manual and offering paypal echeck and bank transfer for quite sometime (via money request) as an option. today I open my paypal email address and found a notice from paypal customer service. Why? I didn't link or click those credit card logos box. I just stated in my auction. I had a feeling I got reported by those people who were selling the same thing as me only that they sell it $2 more than me.

How did paypal know? I have different paypal email address from ebay? Is that illegal? I didn't link or click my paypal to my ebay auction and I got a notice. I send buyers money request.

Its a listing violation to state that you will only accept tranfers via paypal. If your offering to accept paypal you have to take credit card payments.

  • what sort of "manuals" were you selling?
  • If you are selling on Ebay you have to accept all forms of Payment through Paypal not just bank transfers.

Ergo you have to upgrade to the kind of account that costs a little money.

    Nothing on ebay
  • Looks legit. It doesn't have those click to login to change info and also it's text base no html. Also it stated that I have to upgrade my personal account which is what I have (a personal account) and addressed to my name.

I did not check the paypal box with the credit card logo.

    It's a non-sports related manual.

How do I take off my paypal email address on the ebay selling form list. I've been trying to delete that paypal email address since I don't check the box anyways or link any auction to paypal in a long time. I tried deleting it in the turbo lister but wouldn't erased.

  • It does not matter if you clicked Paypal or not if you are accecpting Paypal for it you have to accept all forms of Paypal. This rule has actually always been in place, but it has been enforced since August of last year

    Link

Sellers who offer PayPal as a payment option on eBay (either using logos or text in the item description) must accept all forms of PayPal payment including account balance, bank account transfer, and credit cards. Sellers must have a Premier or Business PayPal Account or be willing to upgrade from a Personal PayPal Account to a Premier or Business Account if sellers receive a credit card payment. Sellers may not communicate to buyers that they accept, or will not accept, specific forms of PayPal payment.

You will have to upgrade to a premiere account.

I am not sure how you take the address off your selling form, I use turbolister there it is just a button you can click on and off.

I'm still a cheapskate, so I just put in my auctions that I accept online payments and include my email address in the invoices. That usually gets the message across.

  • Wizard, it's unclick on my sell page but the email address stay on the box line. I was trying to erase it before but everytime I click apply and it stays there. I don't use the paypal link on ebay anymore. Ebay paypal might think I'm linking it after the end of auction. I wasn't using paypal in a long time as online payment but some would asked me if I accept. So I started stating bank transfer and echeck but they have to wait for my money request. I tell buyers again what i accept. They have no problem with that set up.

helionaut, it's either I got reported or ebay has a tracker for those words that I used or the uncheck link on the sell page with my email address still showing and might think I'm using it after the auction. 88% of buyers pay by check and money order just that some would asked since they have no time to go to PO or don't have time to write check.

That is against Ebay rules and should someone report you your account could be suspended.

This is directly from Ebays policy on it. Its also not fair to the majority of the sellers who are paying the fees associated with Paypal for you to accept payments like that. Paypals terms also say that if you accept any form of payment you must have a premier account, it has always been like that.

Sellers may not communicate to buyers that they accept, or will not accept, specific forms of PayPal payment.
