I guess I am dumber than I thought

After writing a $10,000+ check for my daughter for high school this week (books and lap top additional) I decided to treat myself to something that will be around a year from now.

1968 Topps Hockey PSA 10

Anyway 4SC had it opening for 150 with a BIN of 200. The reserve was also 200. What was their strategy. If someone was going to bid 200 the card was their's, if not there was no buyer.

What am i missing?

Forget about the card for a minute. $10,000 books and a laptop for school?? Was there an automobile in there as well?

Sure you will. All you have to say is "hey honey how does public school sound" image

  • Hey, You're the CZAR . . . You call the shots!

I concur with Matt. Public school is the way to go!

Plus, you finish your '66s quicker.

    No brainer.

sadly the public school district i live in is filled with riff-raff. i am not naive enough to say that everyone at an all girls school is an angel, but if someone gets in trouble their parents will give a sh-t, because they got the 10,000 investment. at a public school that is not always the case. plus some of these punks just get shipped around when they get expelled.

not knocking the public school system in this country. many of the schools can offer top notch opportunities. but since they have to take everyone you do have issues that may not be as common at an all girls school. just my opinion.

    any thoughts on the card?

  • 10K ! To go to high school ? Thats the most bizzare thing I've ever heard. To each his own I guess.

Is that 10K for an entire year or just until the new year? In either case treat yourself.
  • Consider charter schools, they're free!

My kid was a marginal PS student (like dad), he chose a charter high school, became highly motivated and graduated.

He just rec'd his bachelors, Summa Cum Laude this May and is leaving soon to begin Grad School at NYU. Now it's getting wicked expensive, but I still refuse to sell my cards.

is this movie in your personal collection? you are not allowed to think that way until the girls turn 18!

and what is the deal with three off to the left. that looks like a movie poster for white chicks

i looked up the reviews on that movie and i guess Casablanca is safe

    Private School

next time this is on showtime i'll have to tivo it.
