JUST PLAIN FUNNY CARDS??? ALSO NEED HELP ID-ING A CARD

Greetings Again Folks:
Some may recall my asking for help with the ugliest players ever so I could put together a wall of ugly in my house. It's going quite well by the way, and I thank everyone for that. Deeper still, it turned out to be just a laugh out loud post.

I stumbled across my '89 fleer ripken the other day and decided that just plain funny cards, such as that, deserve a spot on the wall too. I just learned about the C3po phalic error card and will have to get that for the wall too.

So QUESTION #1: What other just plain funny cards are out there? They don't have to be "adult-ish"...just funny. I can recall a Mickey Hatcher card where he had a super oversized glove (though I can' t recall the year or make).....stuff like that'll do too. HELP ME OUT WITH ANY JUST PLAIN FUNNY CARDS YOU CAN RECALL.

QUESTION #2: I can remember having a card, I believe a Score card from '89-91ish, that had a guy in the background very clearly grabbing his junk. You wouldn't notice it right away, but it was very clear. I can't recall whose card it was though.....DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS CARD???

Thanks very much folks. Loving this forum, and happy to be a part of it.

gonzoa, the card that you're talking about is an '89 Score card with a Tigers pitcher and the second baseman is manhandling his jockstrap in the background. I can't quite remember the name of the pitcher or card # (although I have a couple of those somewhere), but I've seen it posted on other threads here on the boards. So, we should see it pop up soon.

  • YES, ArnyVee, that is definitely the one I'm remembering. I was thinking Tigers, but wasn't sure. Wow. Can't wait to see it again and pick one up.

And a great Martin there....a new one to me....I have to wonder if that was accidental, or he just hated that camera man.

If my memory doesn't fail me, I think it was Paul Gibson on the Score card...
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

Take a look at a 1991 Upper Deck Frank Thomas. It look like he's flipping someone off behind his wrist band...

1990 or 1991 Upper Deck, reverse: Roger McDowell with the landscaping crew's hose, hosing down some fans.

There is an Eric Lindros card that I believe was put out by Score. I can't find a picture, but I will keep looking. The photo is of Eric near the net, but if you look into the stands directly behind him, there is a guy with a Lindros jersey on, a HUGE pink baby bonnet and a big pink pacifier hanging around his neck. I just love that card!
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

I will post the pic when I get it. My buddy was at a game and made a sign with Bonds head enlarged and put green moss like stuff on his head for hair and it says Cha Cha Cheater. (remember those Chia pets?) Bonds is looking at it in the pic. Funny stuff.

  • The Hatcher card was an 86 Fleer. One of my all time favs.......
  • RipkenCollector:
JUst visited that ebay group....really good stuff.....thanks very much.....I'll be picking up one of each of the above. I wasn't aware they actually corrected the Gibson card. Was that Trammell?

And the Mickey Hatcher was '86, huh? I was way off in my thinking, but at least I got the player right. I know there are few more I'll be able to post when I get home from work.....just gotta find 'em.

    Love the Detroit Blows.
  • If you cant find a Nettles A Hole cheaper, I have one extra. $6 ppd on ebay now. Been there for years so I doubt any takers. There was a airbrushed version made as well. *Sorry to post a sale here.

  • One we have not thought of and all Red Sox fans will groan over is the 1989 Upper Deck Bill Buckner. Ironically in the collation pattern the next card was usually Mookie Wilson.
  • Or is the 1990 Upper Deck??

Looks more like Luis Salazar in the background. He played just about every position but pitcher and catcher for the 88 Tigers.

I always chuckle when I see this card. For being such a bada**, Otto looks so goofy in his rookie card.
