I finally snagged a psa 10 vesuvan

The funny thing is that it says PSA 10, but it shouldn't be. The centering should definately have made it a 9. I compared it to my 9, which by the way is pristine, and the 9 is better centered. Oh well, at least the registry says I have a 10 now. I know I shouldn't cry, but it just take a little joy away when I gaze upon it. Have no fear, I'll get over it.

9.94 set rating now... The end is in sight.

sweet i had that problem i sent in 2 bazzar and the 9 looks better than the 10!have you considered resubmitting the 9?maybe they just had a bad day when they graded it did you get the arabians back yet?oh well ill be sending in some sweet beta soon so maybe ill get you a little closer!

Those arabians have been off to PSA for a month now. Recently, I've found that the are taking close to the full 45 business days to get them done.

I'm not resubmitting the 9 because, more often than not, the centering will cause it to be graded 9. The 10 got that grade on pure luck.

Those last few cards are going to take a bit of time, but it's good to see you still making steady progress - if I only I could that far with my Unlimited set!

One thing always occurs to me when I look at your set how come your Weighted GPA isn't the same as the set rating - I thought they'd be the same if you were 100% complete (they seem to be for every other set I've looked at which is 100% done)

Hey Steven,

Congrats - I know you love the Vesuvan a lot (and 10's even more ).

The whole 10/9 thing wrt centering is really one of the major thorns in my side when it comes to PSA. I know my standards for a 10 are WAAAYYY higher than PSA's. I have seen far too many 10's I'd never pay the premium for simply because they have aweful centering. Oh well, overall they do a good job and I still think they provide a valuable service; I just need to see scans of all 10's before I buy them, that's all .

That is, of course, assuming my wife ever lets me buy anything again

I cant seem to post jpegs to the forum, or I am too much of a ludite to figure it out. If you could walk me through it, I'd love to post pics of my 9 and 10 vesuvans. If anyone can give me step by step instructions, I'd appreiciate it.

I've noticed for over a year that my set rating and gpa are different. Check this out. These are the numbers I get from the set when I go to validate it:

Percent Complete: 293/292 = 100.00%
Weighted GPA: 3875.00/391 = 9.9104859
Set Rating: 3875.00/390 = 9.9358974

Somehow, PSA thinks that I have 293 cards in a 292 card set When calculating my GPA they use a divisor that is +1 (391 versus 390). So in effect, they are shorting my GPA. The set rating is calculated correctly, but the GPA is lower than it should be. The glitc seems to only affect my set. Since I was the first one to register many cards, I think it was introduced then. It used to be off by +2, but I upgraded a card and it fixed itself. By the time I get to a perfect set, it should work itself out... Although it is kind of weird!

i should be getting the grades back from my vesuvan in a few days as isent at the express level i think it should get a 10 if not its like stevens pristine 9 he got robbed on perfect center no flaws perfect edges corners centering and surface absolutely a 10 if ever ive seen one!ps steve n what do you want for your 9?
