the way i read it is you send in a completely filled-out return Bill of Lading from Fedex w/all your info incl. value, etc....it seems kinda vague on the submission form, only gives instructions with addresses on where to ship your package to them....i'd call PSA & ask one of their kind & accommodating Customer Service reps to be sure, tho image

    You tease.

I read it also and it was vague to me too. I thought you actually knew something. image

honestly, i never use Fedex, to much of a PITA with them, but i am drawing my own conclusion here....would they fill out the Fedex doc for you? doubtful....don't think they'd bother with processing via Internet unless they already had your account number, so maybe that's the ticket, if they knew that was your preference....i'd be interested in knowing, just for future ref....take it easy image

Just fill out the form with your FedEx number on the top. They will not ship via Ground so the cost is very similar and probably a lot more on small orders.

There is no way its more than USPS registered.

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with Zef on this one. No way. Unless, of course, there is a way.

Sign up for a http://www.fedex.com account (free). At the top of the PSA submission form you simply check the FedEx Box (choose 3 day shipping for the cheapest rate) and put your account number in the space provided.

Use FedEx all the time. I'm in California so even 3 day shipping gets to me in 1-2 days from PSA.

How does the rate compare to USPS and how do you figure shipping charges?

MooseDog is correct and don't forget to fill out the insurance amount. I am not sure on a rate comparision with USPS.
  • If you decide to use your Fed Ex account please beaware that you need to carry your own insurance policy on the product. We will not be insuring it.

Sorry Zef, I just saw this thread.

I use FedEx all the time. For any order it is cheaper. My last sub of 65 cards cost me $6.81 for ground. PSA does have other options on their form now, it used to only allow for Express and whether or not you wanted Sat. Delivery. I now choose either 3 day (if I used a guaranteed turnaround time and it'll get me my stuff in time for a weeekend show) and I never do Sat delivery, it adds a fair amount to the price IIRC.

Also, as far as insurance goes, I typically only use this for my cheaper submissions or really rare stuff, otherwise I use registered mail. I just saw Carol's post and I was not aware that PSA didn't put an insurance amount on the package when shipped fed ex. I always have put an amount on the form and assumed it was insured. However, FedEx doesn't cover sports cards over $100 total liability anyway, so it's kinda moot. A lot of my stuff lately has been cheaper stuff (modern and vintage) that is for the all-time team sets in the football registry. Nothing rare or terribly high grade that's tough, or expensive to replace.

Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions. I'll pay attention to this thread as well.

    Hope that helps.

Carol beat me to it... Do not use Fedex... if it turns up lost, tough luck. They only cover cards up to $500, and if PSA doesn't insure it at all you are really SOL. Check the link in my sig line.

get a collectinsure policy and the savings on the shipping will more than pay for the policy.

Isn't collectinsure what 4SC uses? Have you used them before? Ever had to make a claim?
