Complete US Denomination sets for MS but not PR?

I asked about a year ago about the possibility of a complete US Proof Half set, after the MS set was established on the registry. Since that time almost every denomination has acquired a complete set option in MS but there are none in the proof categories. Why is that? Are proof coins not considered as desirable? For those of us that collect proof coins we would like the same option to show a continous run of the US denominations. Any support from other PCGS members on this topic would be appreciated.

I'm sure they will make complete proof sets within a year or so. It will take time to make up new set categories and work out the bugs, etc. PLUS, it looks better to them and their stock holders if they have XXX more sets registered. It would also potentially bring some more proof coins to the table for slabbing, thusly, improving their bottom line. I don't think there will be a huge following for these complete proof sets due to expense. BUT, I'm sure the competition will be fierce amongst the giants out there.

After they DO make a complete proof dollar set, etc, then they will be bothered by those desiring a complete proof and MS dollar set, etc. I was very suprised when they made a complete set for my series, the Kennedy set. I completed the set as my goal and had no intention on asking them for a complete set, but it mystically appeared after I completed my set a couple years ago. I still have a LONG way to go for my upgrades though so it will always be a work in progess, LOL Be patient, good things come to those whom wait. Good luck! Ray

would you include branch mint proofs and silver commemorative proofs?

I doubt if the accuracy of proof production is good enough too warrant a complete set - especially on coins before 1850
