I have had enough of this little brat already. ESPN just reported that her caddy Greg Johnston, was fired after her 26th place finish at the womens British open. He was notified by her agent.

This girl has shown zero class since she became a household name. She has done everything from show pitiful etiquette on the course to violating rules a weekend hacker knows about to brag about feats she hasnt yet accomplished. I for one am tired of her already. Can she please just go away ? It is the medias fault as much as anyone for her constant attention but either way, she has done NOTHING.

Now, i know she is young, but so what ? Let her win a damn tournament or 10 on the LPGA before we have to hear her daily 1 hour press conference on how she wants to be a full time member of the PGA tour. Her ego and arrogance make T.O. seem humble.

She's as talented as any woman on the tour, and she's 16.

The LPGA and PGA are doing the right thing in promoting the hell out of her - youth sells. Who else are they going to put on ads, Ernie Els?
She's as hot a property as either club has not named Tiger.

Ax, she is not even half the talent that Sorenstam is. Let her win something before she is given any accolade. They want to promote her, first teach the little brat the rules of the game, THEN promote her on the LPGA. Give this playing on the mens tour a rest till she accomplishes something with the ladies first.

She's the next best draw after Tiger, and she gets women watching the men's game when she plays there.

I agree she hasn't won anything, but they are simply promoting her.

No, because she's a spoiled brat with no class.

But if you want to carry her torch, please, by all means, I'm sure you'd have few people to compete with. My take on her after watching her and reading her comments over the last year or so is that she perceives herself as a lot better than she's ever actually proven on the LPGA circuit. If she wins a couple of tournaments, maybe then she'll get a bit more respect, but as of now all she is is a media darling with no track record. And I personally find her to be a bit too pompous for someone at her age.

Ax, unless you have followed her and the comments she has made over the past couple of years you really cant get a feel for what this girl is about. She constantly brags, makes totally off base ignorant statements, walks around the course without the slightest regard to the rules and etiquette of the game. Nearly every tourney, whether on the womens or mens tour she has stepped on opponents toes as far as walking in their line, talking, etc. She talks constantly as if she is at Tigers level already. She may be young, but she has zero class. The tour should spend 1/100th of the time they do promoting her to sitting her spoiled A$$ down and telling her the rules of the game. There are many, many instances where she is penalized for a rule violation, something you dont see your average weekend player do, nevermind a touring pro. She obviously has not been taught the first thing about grace or humility, nevermind the rules. People are jumping on her bandwagon ONLY because she is young and talented. The minute she enters her twenties and acts with the same disregard for the game and fellow competitors she will be maligned by the same press who now fall over themselves to get a piece of her. The public and the media began to get all over the Williams sisters in tennis for their attitude yet they didnt show 1/10th of the low class talk and actions that this girl has shown....all without ever winning a damn thing.

And as for firing her caddy, YES, she is a low life for having her agent call the guy. He is a knowledgable and well respected man who has caddied for far better than her. In a game of professionalism and class the least the man could have gotten was a phone call from her or her family to tell him they were going a different direction. Instead her and her family showed their low class mentality by handling the situation the way they did.

Sounds like some jealousy that a 16 year old girl plays golf better than those who are trying to scold her.

    Maybe its just me, though.

And she's 'constantly' walking through other's lines, or talking during their shots? I can recall of one incident of that happening last year...and I honestly doubt that there is an ongoing problem with this.

People as a whole want to see her play, and the LPGA and PGA are more than willing to put her on a pedestal to give them that opportunity. And please show me where she's 'bragging' about her accomplishments?

Jealousy is a stinky cologne, boys.

Ax, whether you seriously doubt something or not, it is the truth. Nearly every week there is a problem with her course etiquette. It is not a one time or isolated situation. She also has had many, many rule violations, which it pitifull for someone who wants to be an elite player.

If you also miss out on her bragging then this is exactly what I suspected it to be, a waste of time even having this debate with you, or you being argumentative for the sake of it once again. The girl doesnt open her mouth without bragging about something.

There is absolutely no jealousy over her game. Tiger Woods has more game in his little toe than she will ever have, the difference with him was even from a young age he displayed a respect, knowledge, and humility for the game. From the first time he became prominant he had a reverence for those that came before him. He was well aware of course etiquette and had a firm grasp of the rules of the game. His play backed up any bit of arrogance he may have shown.

Wie strolls around without any regard to those Around her, or the first clue about the games rules, history, or her place. Nothing said here is off base, it has all happened, and happened enough to make it far from isolated. And for the record, the PGA is not willing to put her on a pedestal. There are a select few events and sponsers that have given her exemtions, which is far from the tour and their people from pumping her up. Because a sponser and the media hype her does not mean the PGA tour is.

  • I think we're forgetting that's she only 16. She has a lot of growing up to do. Hopefully, she'll mature over the next few years and realize how "pompous" she has sounded. But honestly, at 16, I probably said and did some pretty stupid things too.

Then you'd think he would've stopped her from that illegal drop, and that moss removal that cost her 2 strokes, isn't it the caddy's job to know that rule book?

No, it is her job, not his. He cant be trying to control the gallery, watch her line of flight from yards ahead of her and keep and eye on what she is doing behind him too.

To the fact she is only 16, I completely agree. Even more of a reason why she should not be on the tour yet, especially the MENS tour. She is not ready mentally, nevermind physically.

Being 16, I really doubt she hired/fired anyone. In fact, I believe everything up to now has been handled by her father. She's a hot marketing commodity at this point. Whether she's actually good or not is irrelevant.

It's always just you, Ax. It's no surprise the lack of class or simple manners doesn't offend you.

You can defend this brat all you want, and maybe I'm old school, but I don't think it's too much to ask a 16-year-old to show some class. Unfortunately, in today's society, class and tact are in short supply.

  • First off, I'd hit it. For real for real. lol, secondly I've been golfing since my teen years and my older brother started, and I haven't commited such stupid moves(like walking on anothers putting line, come on how STUPID is she?). Anyways, she's a great talent, now if she had some class and actually won a tourney instead of showing that she can't finish then maybe I'd respect her. Until then, she's just a pretty face.

LOL, I'm well aware of that--your jealousy of Yankee success and world championships is quite evident on these boards, and boy do you stink!!
