Minimizing shiny highlights on coins???

mrcommemmrcommem Posts: 1,186 ✭✭✭✭✭
I see that many of the digital images posted minimize the shiny highlights and emphasize the colors. What kind of equiptment and lighting is being used to create this kind of image? I especially notice it on the PCGS images.

For normal images, diffused light helps soften the highlights.

For colorful image (mainly shot at an angle), the reflected light tends to light everything up fairly equally.

    More lights also accomplishes this.
