New eBay "shipping guidelines" being released...

....a little bit at a time.

The most recent "opinion" says that in "media-categories,"
the reasonable maximum is believed to be $4.00 for
a DVD/CD.

I asked the girl if I could charge $5.00 for a "plastic
encased trading card." She did not have a canned
answer, said she would get back to me.

All of my non-auction shipping is "Free," but bids are
so low these days, I have been getting as close
to $5.00 as possible. That includes bubble-mailer,
delivery-confirmation, and insurance.

It appears that the enforcement part of Mr. Cobb's
vision, is not being implemented on the penalty
front. Lots of 1-cent auctions from China - MOSTLY counterfeit
stuff - with $150.00 + S&H. Last week, a guy in the
Ukraine was allegedly selling an Italian Painting for
99-cents and asking more than $5,000.00 for crated
freight charges.

Just as long as you justify the charges you can charge pretty much whatever you can get. EX: One PSA card, shipped in a box via Priority Mail, with DC and Insurance up to $50 would run about $5.75, so you shouldn't have a problem charging up to $6.00. You could always ship everything next day and charge $15. In their examples they just want it spelled out before hand in the listing, a kind of "truth in advertising" mandate.

I would say you're fine at $5 just as long as you state "insurance and DC are included in the price", keep it at a max of $4 for shipping alone.
