How is this Saint graded a 66?

I am new and working on learning grading but the dings and strikes on this coin seem to put it in the MS63 catagory at best for me.

Please let me know what you all think the correct grade is on this so I can have a learning experience.

A SGS 66 = PCGS or NGC MS63/64

This one looks like a very high end 63 or a MS64.
I don't even know what SGS stands for, and I have no intention of finding out.

Your first lesson should be to steer clear of 3rd tier grading services.
They can be very harmful to your wallet. Even if this coin graded out 64 on marks who knows if it has other issues such as altered surfaces. 3rd tier services don't stand behind their product and have a poor track record when it comes to slabbing problem coins.

MS 62, here's my PCGS 63 for comparison.

That grading service says it all. If you buy high grade saints, stick with PCGS and some older NGC holders. Get your money back if you can and take this is a lesson weve all been thru.

It's graded 66 because it's in a third-world slab.

No one with any sense or knowledge would pay 66 money for this coin. IMO, it's about a 62.

[Edit to add: you're right. This coin is 63 AT BEST, on a really good day when the graders at a reputable TPG are in a particularly good mood and they grade the coin on a Friday afternoon. But I'd say 62.]

Don't buy SGS coins unless it's free. They don't authenticate, and the graders are partially blind.
