    Sando69,

e-mail me with a price or I will make you an offer at jdc122@aol.com
  • Sando - I'm interested in this card, I've been looking for it in a PSA 8 well-centered condition for a while. If you are selling it privately, please email me at cmoking@yahoo.com

    King,

Stop.I will give you some Goudeys(I need this card) if you stop.

  • Jim,

I need this card too. Not for the 1962 set, but I'm a Babe Ruth collector.
I'm letting Sando know I'm interested in the card. Whether it is you, Charles Merkel, Marshall Fogel, or God, I'm still interested in the card. Maybe you'd pay a higher price than me...but I want a crack at it if it is well-centered. If it is oc, you can have it :-)

  • ok... that's it...!

    off to mastro it goes!
  • Sando, it is probably in your best interest to auction it off. Make sure both Jim and I know when and where the auction is! Good luck to all.
  • well... just kiddin, guys...
    but, hey- no squabbles...ok?
i'm really leanin toward the ebay thing to give ALL interested an opportunity...
i will consider trades, as well
oh... btw, king... sorry to disappoint, but the card is NOT centered t/b... image

how would you say the centering is T/B and L/R? I care much more about L/R centering than I do T/B. I need it 60/40 or better L/R, but don't mind too much if it is as bad as 70/30 T/B.
  • anybody that i might email image to post for all to view & comment on?

    King,

Me, Charlie Merkle, Marshal Fogel and God--sounds like an interesting foursome.

I have also got a beat on another one and am not going to get into a bidding contest with someone of your means.

    Sando--I will respond tonight.

This card should also draw interest being the "Green Tint" version which is also sometimes referred to as the "Foul Pole" variation due to the cropping of the green tint card being slightly different (with the foul pole visible) from the regular version of this card.

  • Sando, the centering is fine for me. I am still interested in the card.
  • Jim - nothing personal. As I said, I also need the card for my Ruth collection.
  • packcollector-
thank you very much... greatly appreciated

Any thoughts on what the card is worth? Is it difficult to find in high grade? 28-8's and 2-9's.
  • well, i know the last two that were sold on ebay went for $410.12 (10/16/05) and $415.00 (9/11/05) plus shipping & handling.

there was one subsequent auction started, but was pulled early ("item no longer available").

although psa does not yet recognize the two very distinct variations, i really think at some point they will have to do so (similar to the 1952 "black backs" decision).

$256.43--long way from the $725 I offered if he would have pulled it.

Congrats King--as they say and as I learned with the Speedy Duncan--sometimes your best wins are the ones you miss.
