Interesting price comparison

Received the 3rd edition of David Lange's Buffalo book today from DLRC. Haven't had time to scan through it yet but I did look at the Buffalo nickel price list that DLRC included with the shipment (clever marketing by the way). There were six coins that had comparable slab numbers from PCGS and NGC. All six PCGS coins were offered at a higher price than their NGC counterpart. The aggregate difference was 20% and ranged individually from 4% (1926 in MS66) to 33% (1936-D in MS66). Now, I obviously didn't see the coins so I can't comment on eye appeal, strike, nuances, etc. However, from a marketing standpoint, DLRC is asking more, sight unseen, for a PCGS coin than a "comparable" NGC coin. Goes to prove, in a very small way, that those who buy the slab rather than the coin will pay more for a PCGS slab than a NGC slab (and the seller knows it).
